The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service background. Previous sales experience preferred, but not required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.  Successful candidates will be self-motivated to achieve goals, while enjoying a team environment.  Automotive industry experience is desired, although not required as we provide company-sponsored training programs encouraging professional development.  You will be paid a 3-month training guarantee of $3000.00 per month which you will be paid either $3000.00 per month Training Guarantee while training or the greater of the standard commission pay plan.  Currently our Sales Associates earn an average of $80,000.00 per year with our lowest producer over $50,000.00 and highest well over $100,000.00.  Our sales associates on average sell and lease combines 16 units per month.  As a Sales Associate you will have control over your compensation with unlimited income potential, including performance-based incentives and a full benefits package, including employer matching 401k retirement plan, health and dental insurance and generous Paid Time Off package.

  • Maintains a personal demeanor consistent with Toyota of La Crosse culture, contributing a positive, supportive work environment for all Toyota of La Crosse team members.
  • Completes all aspects of the Toyota of La Crosse Sales Process.
  • Utilizes Toyota of La Crosse customer relationship management (CRM) software and the most current form of the Toyota of La Crosse Worksheet & Appraisal Form.
  • Sells/leases and delivers a minimum of 10 units per month, and keeps 12 units 90 day average for participation in any sales contest.
  • Approaches, greets with standard greeting, and offers assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  • Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Explains fully product performance, application, and benefits to prospects.
  • Describes all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer prior to test drive.
  • Utilizes dealership CRM software follow-up system.
  • Exhibits high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Knows and understands the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail automotive sales.
  • Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Attends product and sales training courses as requested by the Sales Manager.
  • Keeps abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc. and their benefits to customers.
  • Ensures that a Sales Manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
  • Turns 100 percent of closed deals to the finance department, along with properly completed paperwork (insurance information, trade title, etc.).
  • Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealer policies.
  • Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty and paperwork.
  • Introduces customers to Service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership’s service department.
  • Follows up on all post-delivery items, “we-owes”, and special requests to be sure that all customers’ expectations are met.
  • Maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains all prospects in Toyota of La Crosse CRM software.
  • Reviews and analyzes actions at the end of each day, week, month and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.


  • General sales and customer service experience preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.  This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must have the ability to establish productive, cooperative relationships with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.
  • Must be self-motivated with a competitive spirit and strong work ethic.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with people in an articulate manner.
  • All necessary factory training is required to maintain Toyota Sales person Certification Standards




A Wisconsin sales license must be maintained.


A valid driver’s licenses must be maintained.


Toyota certification must be maintained at the minimum level.

Work Schedule

Our Sales Department business hours are Monday & Thursday from 8:30a.m. to 8:00p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:30a.m. to 5:30p.m., and Saturday from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.  As a member of the sales team, you will have a work schedule of 5-days per week.  You will only work one of our late nights (Monday or Thursday till 8:00pm) and on the evening that you work, you will need to report to work till 11:00am.  You will be assigned a standard weekday off per week with the ability to take 1-Saturday off per month subject to scheduling coverage.  This will result in approximately a 40 hour workweek with a lunch break.  This is subject to change at any time per management's discretion.


Travel Requirements

Travel to other Ballweg locations along with Toyota training and other relevant training courses required. Must maintain a valid driver’s license for occasional travel requirements and have the ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
