The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business for the dealership by answering incoming sales calls, e-mail inquiries and live chat messages and executing marketing campaigns.

    Work Schedule

    The business development team is required to cover all hours the sales department is open at the dealershipThe Business Development Representative will generally be expected to work 40 hours per week.  This is subject to change at any time per management’s discretion.

     

    Compensation and Benefits

    Compensation:

    $30,000-$45,000

     

    This position is classified as hourly, non-exempt; therefore, you will be paid an overtime premium if you work more than 40 hours in a workweek.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal demeanor consistent with Ballweg’s culture, contributing a positive, supportive work environment for all Ballweg team members.
    • Learns basic product knowledge and incentive programs and follows scripts provided by the dealership. 
    • Receives inbound sales phone calls, responds to Internet sales leads and corresponds with customers through live chat.
    • Identifies the customer’s needs, provides information and addresses any concerns and schedules an appointment for the customer with a Sales Associate which should ultimately result in a vehicle sale. Minimum of 40-50 outbound/inbound calls daily

     

    • Performance standards measure how many leads were converted to showroom visits (appointments) and how many of those showroom visits resulted in a sale. The representative should be fully capable of both traditional and Internet-specific automotive sales processes.

     

    • Minimum of 20-40 email task activities completed daily (chats, emails)

     

    • Total 60-90 tasks daily (300 - 450 weekly)

     

    • Phone calls, emails, and other contact needs to be well documented by notes in VIN Solutions.

     

    • The representative is required to execute customer communications via email, telephone and face-to-face that conform to the standards and processes put into effect by the management team.

     

    • Each day, the representative must complete and submit a digital appointment tracking log to the General Sales Manager. Enter all prospect communications notes, records and customer appointment data into the CRM tool.  Track and comply with programs that measure BDC Rep process success:

     

    • Leads Received
    • Outbound Telephone Calls
    • Appointments Set
    • Appointment Shows
    • Sales based on Appointment Shows

     

    • Each BDC Rep must ensure that appointment information is flagged in Vin Solutions with good notes.

     

    • Comply with procedures to ensure all customers are tracked and follow-up is maintained using the lead management tools.

     

    • Prepare reports showing appointments scheduled, which customers showed up and which customers were sold from leads received.

     

    • Be able to use photos of vehicles in emails/text when working with prospects.

     

    • Keep current on all incentives & promos to ensure price quotes are current.

     

    • Be able to use links to web sites in emails sent to customers.

     

    • Know how to use CRM metrics and reports to improve process performance and sales closing ratios.
    • Places follow-up calls within 24 hours of an appointment that did not result in a vehicle sale. Analyzes the overall customer experience, identifies learning opportunities and reports any concerns to management.    
    • Places outbound calls to potential leads based on current marketing campaigns and lease termination lists.
    • Under the direction of the management team, conducts market research to include market conditions, pricing issues and competitors’ current marketing and incentive programs.
    • Logs all appointments in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system at the time the appointment is set.  Keeps daily logs of all appointments set as well as the outcomes of the appointments. Reviews with the management team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Compiles weekly reports as directed by the management team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  All monthly reports will be approved at the sole discretion of the General Sales Manager.

    Secondary Responsibilities

    • Attends weekly sales meetings.
    • Assists the management team with projects.
    • Assists the Delivery Coordinator & Marketing Administrator by placing follow-up calls and e-mails for the New Owner Events to increase customer participation.
    • Staffs on-site and off-site company events on an as needed basis.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must have a strong customer service background. Previous sales and/or marketing experience is a plus.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Must possess strong computer skills specifically in Microsoft Outlook and Excel and in navigating through websites.
    • Must have the ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired results. Negotiation skills with evidence-based feedback is a plus.
