Represents the Dealer as a personal Agent within the Dealership and at functions outside of the Dealership.
Enforces the Ballweg Family of Dealerships used vehicle turn policy and establishes procedure for quick disposal of over-aged vehicles.
Prepares and administers an annual operating forecast and budget for the used-vehicle sales department.
Maintains used vehicle inventory level to standard set by the General Manager.
Ensures all used vehicle inventory is merchandised properly physically and online.
Ensures all mechanical and cosmetic reconditioning is performed on used vehicles within five business days of acquisition and meets dealership cost limitations.
Keeps abreast of auction activity, purchases vehicles online and at physical auctions in order to maintain stocking level set by the General Manager.
Assists individual Client Advisors in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and provides them with the support to meet these goals.
Ensures that Client Advisors are informed of all used vehicle inventory, current advertising efforts and special sales.
Assists in appraising incoming used vehicles utilizing group appraisal when possible.
Establishes and controls all used vehicle wholesaling activities.
Requires delivery procedures and ensures that delivery includes an introduction to the service department.
Hires, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all sales staff.
Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect vehicle sales.
Ensures proper follow up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system (CRM).
Processes Client Advisor commission sheets daily and monitors the payroll records of all Client Advisors.
Conducts daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings.
Helps establish and enforce product-knowledge standards.
Oversees the efforts of Client Advisors to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership.
Assists in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership’s guidelines.
Attends management meetings as requested by General Manager.
Maximizes total variable gross profit for new and used car department.
Ensures 100 percent turnover of each customer to the finance office.
Fully understands and adheres to Mercedes-Benz Certified pre-owned guidelines and policies.
Administers all other factory-sponsored programs.
Serves as liaison between the sales department and other departments within the Dealership.
Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner.
Processes all federal, state and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transaction.
Completes paperwork necessary for vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner.
Addresses customer complaints to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
Makes sure the facility is secure, well-lit and professional in appearance.
Minimum two years automotive sales experience required.
Minimum two to five years automotive sales management experience preferred.
Proven track record of exceeding customer expectations and financial projections.
Must have exceptional leadership, team building and communication skills.
Must be organized and have a strong work ethic.
Strong computer aptitude, specifically with dealership management systems and Microsoft Excel.
All necessary factory training must be maintained.
Travel to other Ballweg locations along with MBUSA training and other relevant training courses required.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license for occasional travel requirements.
A professional appearance and manner consistent with Mercedes culture must be maintained.
The Used Car Sales Manager is required to work during regular business hours which are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The General Manager will work to ensure one late morning arrival (10:00 a.m.), one early evening departure (5:00 p.m.) and a regularly scheduled day off during the week is maintained as long as the overall Dealership is properly staffed at all times. This will result in approximately a 45 hour workweek. This is subject to change at any time per management’s discretion.
